Cats

It seems that the cats the humans have been feeding are here to stay... We have not yet worked out a peaceful coexistence, however. Right now, the cycle is, cats eat and sit on porch, we stare, we chase. They are kind of cute though.

This is the mother cat.

And here is me staring at one of the kittens on the chair.

She was clearly not amused...

I spent the rest of the morning looking out the windows and tracking their every move.

Mom thinks I'm more curious than anything. Bernie, however, was sent downstairs. He's a lot more than curious.

Somehow, all of the members of The Herd are Bernie's in this story.

Kitties are fun! My nanny when I was a puppy had three cats and I always tried to play with them. They were fun.

Hmm, I've never had anything to do with cats. There are some that sit in front of a house we walk by, but I have never paid them much attention. Beau...well, he's a Bernie too. He likes to bark and generally cause troubles!

Marmalade, first I have to comment on how wonderfully pointy your head is in the last picture. I am a great admirer of pointy heads.

Now I believe I have mentioned in the past that I, too, was raised with a cat for my first two years, with no issues. However, at this point, I think it would be prudent to mention that my own parents had some difficulty with furred and feathered animals... My mother, Babe, actually swallowed a rescued duckling whole. (oops) And Beau, my father, sort of, well it WAS a total accident, ate his family's prize winning pet chinchilla. (big oops).
Just thought I'd mention it. Not that you or Bernie would EVER do such a thing... :-)

Have a HAPPY, HAPPY turkey day!

We would SO do such a thing. Bernie practically had the cat the other night and I moved in when Mom dragged him away. She hissed and spat and Mom said she hopes she gets us on the snout next time so we learn our lesson. Never, ever estimate a hound...

Thanks for the head compliment--Mom has been bruised by my big, bony head on several occasions.
