Yardwork, snoods, and my brother Bernie
Hi everyone! Spring has finally sprung and all we seem to hear these days is "out of the flower beds! Don't crush the plants! No digging in the compost! No eating the compost!" and so on. Can't a hound have any fun? Anyway, I'm feeling better and am getting into all sorts of trouble. I swiped Mom's dessert off the coffee table today--will she never learn? Anyway, I was overwhelmed by Bentley's snood-modeling pics. What a handsome hound. I don't think Mom knows enough about sewing to make me a snood... Oh well. If I could have one, I would get one with bunnies on it. Anyway, speaking of handsome, my brother Bernie is a pretty handsome devil. The ladies in the neighborhood definitely love him and he's a nice hound guy to have around the house. We're going to surprise Mom for her birthday today. I suggested a liver cake, but Dad doesn't think it's a good idea. I know I'd love a liver cake for my birthday... A hound can always dream...

Oooo, compost. What a great scent it has. No gardening here yet, but I remember it from last spring. Maybe in month or so the human guardians will start to dig in the dirt. I'm sure I could move more dirt than they do if they would let me help!
Thanks for the compliments on the snoods. If you would really like one, my human mom says she'd be happy to sew one for you!
Bentley's mom here - wanting to wish Marmalade's mom a very (belated) happy birthday! Hope you had a great day. (OK, with two wonderful companions like Marmalade and Bernie, any day has got to be good!)
Happy birthday from all of us!
Yup--compost is yummy... Your snoods really are lovely--I would love one but don't want to impose (wait! I'm a hound).
From Marm's Mom--thanks so much for the b-day wishes. It was a nice day and evening, full of houndly serenades. I'm waiting for the day that Bernie starts baying! Marmie's meds are making her extra hungry and thus VERY vocal first thing in the morning. I have to record the baying and have it as my cell phone ringtone. Spoke to the vet today--so far so good. She's doing better and we'll see how the next round of blood work is. If it's all OK, we can continue with the current treatment, which while not a total cure, will hopefully keep the inflammatory disease under control.
We're all so glad to hear that you are feeling better Marmalade. And glad your mom had a nice birthday!
My mom says she's going to look for bunny fabric this weekend - if she finds some, it must mean that a snood for Marmalade was meant to be!
My mom's laughing at the idea of a howling ring tone. Boy, that would get some attention, wouldn't it!
Oh a snood--I'm so excited--a-roo!!!
I too send belated birthday wishes. Maria has my bay as her ringtone. She loves going back to her desk and asking if her phone bayed. It is quite the conversation piece but she says she always knows when her phone rings. Marmalade, glad you're better.
Wimsey
Thanks Wimsey. I have to get Mom to set her phone ringtone... I've been baying extra loud lately...
Okay, Edie is on the hound ringtone now. What a great idea!! Do you know what Molly bays? It sounds like this...
BLLUUUUE HAAAALLLLOOOOOOO!!!
We should all do a baying blog entry on the same day!!
Compost sounds delicious. I am SURE that is on the vet-prescribed diet, even if cheesecake is not. We saw on the Discovery Channel (Dirty Jobs) that the dog musher Martin Buser composts the dog poop from his 40+ dogs. Dog poop mixed with straw. Yep, what a scent. I noticed that he did not have neighbors for many miles. Surprise!
We are all happy you are feeling so much better, Marmalade! Keep up the thievery.
Your Far North Snow Buddy,
Gusinator
Marmalade - my mom finished sewing the snood! Could you have your mom e-mail your address? My e-mail is
DroolyDogs at gmail dot com
(PS - yes, she found bunny fabric, and it's pink!)
Bentley
Oh Bentley, I'm so excited! My ears got all dirty yesterday and Dad was saying a snood would be very helpful! My Mom will e-mail you our address. Thanks so much!
