Critters galore

It seems like fall is definitely here (and as you can see on my face, it's getting harder and harder to get up in the morning). Forget daylight savings time, we need to be on Bloodhound Time--alarms going off no sooner than 8 a.m., with a mandatory mid-morning nap followed immediately by lunch. I've been happily wearing my warm winter coat on the recent cold mornings and have been making quite the fashion statement. I've even heard comments like "Marmie for Vice President". While this liberated hound woman is flattered by such utterances, I think that job would require early mornings, leaving too little time to snooze. Speaking of jobs, Bernie and I have been working hard keeping critters out of our yard, especially those pesky rabbits. Check out the photos from our last big "hunt".

Good job keeping the yard clear of rabbits! I think the rabbit that had been hanging out under the deck here may have moved on - but it seems there are more squirrels than ever these days! A hound's work is never done.

My human mom was looking at your sleepy picture and wondered if those are James Bond DVDs in the background? My humans have a bunch of those too!

Stay warm and take care!

Yup--my parents LOVE James Bond and crime shows. When I hear the "doink doink" of Law and Order, I know I can settle in for a good, long nap. I agree--a hound's work is never done. In about a month, we'll be assisting with raking leaves--Bernie jumps into the leaf piles and goes totally crazy. I just sniff.

Looks like some happy hunting! Edie wishes I would keep your kind of hours... I rarely nap because I like to keep everyone on their toes. The rule in our house is, "NEVER leave Gus unsupervised!!" I am the king of mischief.

Edie also thinks Marmalade would make an excellent VP!
