Yardwork, snoods, and my brother Bernie

Hi everyone! Spring has finally sprung and all we seem to hear these days is "out of the flower beds! Don't crush the plants! No digging in the compost! No eating the compost!" and so on. Can't a hound have any fun? Anyway, I'm feeling better and am getting into all sorts of trouble. I swiped Mom's dessert off the coffee table today--will she never learn? Anyway, I was overwhelmed by Bentley's snood-modeling pics. What a handsome hound. I don't think Mom knows enough about sewing to make me a snood... Oh well. If I could have one, I would get one with bunnies on it. Anyway, speaking of handsome, my brother Bernie is a pretty handsome devil. The ladies in the neighborhood definitely love him and he's a nice hound guy to have around the house. We're going to surprise Mom for her birthday today. I suggested a liver cake, but Dad doesn't think it's a good idea. I know I'd love a liver cake for my birthday... A hound can always dream...

The Great Steak Caper

Hi everyone. Marmalade here. I'm feeling much better--I'm getting my energy back and am up to all sorts of no good. Tonight as Mom and Dad were getting ready to sit down to dinner, I decided to help myself to the steak sitting on Dad's plate. It was a stealth grab and go, but unfortunately the clattering of plates and silverware gave me away. Mom tried to get mad, but she laughed and shared her steak with Dad after prying Dad's steak from my jaws. I'm on a special diet and apparently steak is a no-no. It sure tasted good while it lasted. Anyway, there are the remains of the steak in the garbage can. So sad...

Our girl Marmalade

Hi everyone, Marmie's Mom here. Our girl is really very sick. She went for a sonogram this week, which showed nothing, but blood tests reveal that she has one of two things--inflammatory bowel disease or cancer. We're thinking it's the first, since she's had periodic flare-ups over the last few years, and will begin medication for IBD today. Please keep fingers and paws crossed for our girl. We love her so much and 2 years is not long enough time with her. I think Marmalade agrees that there is much more baying and counter-surfing to be done. I'll keep you posted.
